Introduction to Tartaric Acid
Tartaric acid, 2,3-dihydroxysuccinic acid, is a carboxylic acid with the chemical formula C4H6O6. Found in a variety of plants, such as grapes and tamarind.
Tartaric acid is divided into DL and L(+), including industrial grade and food grade. On industrial grade buildings, most of them are white fine powder (63 microns, 45 microns), and there are also crystalline powders. Food grade is generally a white crystalline powder.
Food industry: Tartaric acid can be used as a food additive and as a stabilizer and acidity regulator in wine, beer and other beverages.
Industrial industry: Mixing the right amount of tartaric acid can improve the compressive strength of concrete.
Pharmaceutical industry: It is a raw material in the pharmaceutical industry, used to prepare biological buffers; used to separate and purify proteins; used as an excipient for pharmaceuticals to enhance the stability and solubility of pharmaceuticals.
It should be noted that tartaric acid is corrosive to a certain extent, so please pay attention to safety when using it and avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.
